The Heartbreak Reset

A safe place to land when you’re navigating heartbreak

Breakups often feel like an emotional emergency. For some, your body will go into shock. You can’t sleep, your mind is racing, you struggle to complete every day tasks. You feel unstable, fearful and unsure how to get over this. For others, you may feel numb, dissociated, and like you are in freeze mode.

I relate, I have been there. I know how de-stabalising it can feel. After becoming a certified Relationship and Life Coach I began researching to understand what exactly is happening in the brain and the body when we are going through a break up.

I created the Heartbreak Reset to offer you safe space to work through everything that you are going through and find the ground beneath your feet again. In this space all of you is welcome and you will have time to attend to all parts of you that are struggling. You will gain clarity, a deeper understanding, ways to reconnect with your body, your heart, your power, regulate your nervous system, and come back home to yourself. You will leave feeling more grounded, confident, accepting, and even excited for the next chapter of your life.

What to Expect:

The Heartbreak Reset is a private coaching session designed to support you through the emotional and physiological impact of a breakup.

This is not just a conversation about what happened.

It is a space where you can:

  • Speak openly about what you’re going through and feel seen and understood.

  • Process the emotional shock of the separation

  • Begin to bring some clarity and order to your thoughts as you process what happened.

  • Learn new tools to help calm and stabalise your nervous system

  • Move out of shock and freeze, allowing grief to move through you in a safe space where you are held and supported.

  • Reconnect with a sense of steadiness in yourself, finding the ground beneath your feet.

  • Come back home to yourself, remembering all that you are.

The Science Behind Your Grief

Heartbreak can activate the same brain regions associated with physical pain. That’s why break ups hurt so much. It can be likened to the kind of withdrawal an addict feels when they are trying to break their addiction.

When our brain goes into withdrawal we experience obsessive thoughts, craving to contact the ex-partner, a desperate need to ‘make sense of it all’, and a need for closure to alleviate pain. Any of this sound familiar? You are not alone, so many people experience this during a break up, it feels unbearable, but that doesn’t mean it’s unusual.

All your past trauma around rejection, loss and abandonment and be activated as well, so you are not just grieving this person, you are grieving every other moment you experienced a loss in your life. It’s a lot to hold all at once.

The Somatic Work

Because your nervous system is so activated during a break up, I will gently guide you through somatic practices which help you relax your nervous system so you begin to create more safety in your body. Somatic practices support you to recognise that you will be ok and get through this. When our nervous system is in fight/flight/freeze/ fawn mode we are unable to rationally and objectively analyse thoughts clearly, meaning your brain is not your friend right now. By relaxing and calming your nervous system, your pre-frontal cortex comes back online which will help you process your thoughts and emotions more rationally, logically and compassionately.

These are tools you can keep on using after the session whenever waves of grief, panic or rumination arise.

You will leave feeling calmer, more grounded, and with the sense that you can get through this after just one session.
